Our Terms & Conditions

  1. A reservation is effective only on the receipt of your deposit. Written confirmation of receipt will be sent by email or post as soon as practicable stating the balance payable and balance due date, usually 30 days prior to day of embarkation.
  2. Balance due must be with us by the due date, otherwise we shall assume that you have cancelled your booking, and we will begin trying to relet your berth(s).
  3. If you cancel your booking half the deposit will be refunded provided that we are able to re-sell your berth(s), otherwise you are liable for the full amount.
(Holiday cancellation insurance is obtainable from your insurance broker or travel agent normally for less than £10 and is highly recommended.)
  4. If we are obliged to cancel the charter for any reason beyond our reasonable control, your deposit and any other fees paid will be returned without any further liability whatsoever to the owners.
  5. The yacht's insurance does not cover you for any injury, damage or loss to you or your property not attributable to our negligence or any defect in the yacht. It is recommended that you check your existing insurance cover.
  6. During the trip, you and your party are members of the crew. For safety and operational reasons you must obey the instructions of the skipper at all times in all matters concerning the operation and running of the yacht. The skipper's decision on all such matters is final.
  7. The minimum age for unaccompanied children is 18, and accompanied children over the age of 12 are welcome. (Children younger than 12 are allowed if you are chartering the whole yacht). All guests should be reasonably fit and free from any medical or physical disabilities (due to the nature of sailing). Please phone or e-mail us if you have any queries.
  8. Breakfasts, lunches when sailing and four evening meals, soft drinks, fruit and snacks are included in the price of your berth. Please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements and we will do our best to accommodate you.
  9. Should you arrive for a cruise, and the weather be so inclement as to be dangerous, then the skipper has the right to delay the start of the passage, or cancel the trip altogether. Where a trip is cancelled due to the weather, you will be offered the chance to rebook at a later date at no extra cost. Likewise if you are on passage and the weather becomes dangerous, the skipper has the right to take the yacht to a safe port, and this may result in a delay in returning to base. (NB. Clyde Marina, Ardrossan operates a storm gate, there may be occasions when this gate is closed and therefore we are unable to either leave or return to the marina). In any of these instances, no fees will be refunded, and no travel expenses will be reimbursed. These are very rare circumstances, and the skipper will always strive to depart and return on time, but your safety and that of the vessel is our no.1 priority, and you should be aware that this is part and parcel of sailing in open water.
