Our Yacht "Damsis”

"Damsis” is a beautifully appointed Bavaria sailing yacht. At 44' LOA, she has ample accommodation space for eight people. Though, for most trips, there will only be 6 people and the skipper on board. Warm air heating keeps the cabins cosy in cooler weather. We have a stereo system with CD changer on board, so please feel free to bring along CDs of your choice.

There are four cabins aboard the yacht;

Twin aft cabins are identical in size, each with a 5'x 6'3 mattress, a hanging locker, stowage along the shelf above the bed, and a seat in front of the locker. A port-light, opening hatch, overhead recessed light and reading light make the cabins light and airy.

To starboard mid-ships is a cabin with two single bunks, again with hanging locker, overhead & reading lights and opening hatch. Lee cloths on these bunks mean they are suitable for use whilst sailing.

The fore-cabin in the bows of the yacht is usually designated for the skipper.

Situated on the port side of the yacht, both fore and aft of the galley, there are two ‘heads' on ‘Damsis', both have a manual marine toilet, wash hand basin and shower with pressurised hot and cold water.

The saloon has a dining table with seating for 8 people, plenty of room to relax after a day on the water. The well-equipped galley is opposite the dining table, running linear along the port side of the yacht and features double sink, oven and hob, fridge and cool-box, plus all equipment and utensils necessary to cook and serve to a hungry crew.

Coming out into the cockpit, there is plenty of space for everyone to sit in comfort. The cockpit table provides an opportunity for pre-dinner drinks or alfresco dining on summer evenings. The large sprayhood offers excellent protection against the weather and the sea, whilst the twin wheels ensure helming is easy whatever tack the boat is on.

A well equipped navigation station with full instrumentation is accompanied by an autopilot connected to the twin wheel steering. On deck she has an electric anchor windlass, hi-performance furling genoa and stacapac mainsail, with adjustable backstay and all lines led aft to cockpit. She has a 55hp engine with sail-drive, and a deep spade rudder. An inflatable dinghy and outboard engine ensure you can get ashore from moorings to stretch your legs and explore the area.
